When you are standing in the middle of a street in what is essentially a subdivision on the outskirts of Hargeisa,
with a group of conservative Somali men, negotiating rent for the office/guesthouse behind you,
and a gust of wind catches both your formerly-modest, floor-length skirt and your headscarf at the same time, revealing both your very blond hair and blindingly white legs up to your knees.
On the upside, I think we got a great deal on the lease.
